Our Backcountry Safari features guided kayaking, followed by snorkeling on pristine patch reefs and wrecks, and to finish off the day, sailing!
Take a journey to mysterious mangrove islands with an expert nature guide who will teach you about the mangrove eco-system as you paddle through a network of canopied canals that are home to an assortment of tropical birds, rays, sharks, sport fish, and more. Novice kayakers are welcome; our vessels are very stable sea kayaks that newbies from ages 6 to 90 can paddle with a few simple instructions.
Our specialty shallow-draft vessels visit a variety of private patch reefs in the protected waters of Keys backcountry to provide you with an exceptional and personal underwater experience. The unique topography of the islands and flats that surround the wildlife refuge assure great visibility and calm seas as you snorkel amid a breathtaking collection of corals, sponge gardens, tropical fish, and dramatic marine life. Those new to snorkeling will receive one-on-one instruction and assistance. Prescription-strength masks and wetsuits in the winter-time are available at no extra charge to allow visitors to take our trips year round.
