Product Description

Our Backcountry Safari features guided kayaking, followed by snorkeling on pristine patch reefs and wrecks, and to finish off the day, sailing!

Take a journey to mysterious mangrove islands with an expert nature guide who will teach you about the mangrove eco-system as you paddle through a network of canopied canals that are home to an assortment of tropical birds, rays, sharks, sport fish, and more. Novice kayakers are welcome; our vessels are very stable sea kayaks that newbies from ages 6 to 90 can paddle with a few simple instructions.

Our specialty shallow-draft vessels visit a variety of private patch reefs in the protected waters of Keys backcountry to provide you with an exceptional and personal underwater experience. The unique topography of the islands and flats that surround the wildlife refuge assure great visibility and calm seas as you snorkel amid a breathtaking collection of corals, sponge gardens, tropical fish, and dramatic marine life. Those new to snorkeling will receive one-on-one instruction and assistance. Prescription-strength masks and wetsuits in the winter-time are available at no extra charge to allow visitors to take our trips year round.

This package initially seemed like a good deal, and the way the tour itself was organized feels that they really did think of the best way for tourist to experience the backcountry.

But the overall experience didn’t really have that “wow” factor. Yes, it was a good trip. I have no complaints about that. Maybe I am just looking for something more.

This mangrove tour is incredibly amazing! The backcountry was a bit rough but exciting. So if you are looking for a tour that is beyond those “touristy” spots, this trip would be perfect for you. Get ready to kayak, snorkel, and sail around. You’ll see a lot of great scenery and have a good time. Highly recommended by me!

It doesn’t get any better than the backcountry safari. Everything you need to enjoy the trip has been thought of. From the food, drinks, to activities – it’s all you can ask for and more! I really like that they included coral and shipwreck exploration on this tour because I’ve been meaning to do that for a long time! Overall, I’d say this is the best part of my Key West vacation.

This is the absolute best thing you should try out in Key West. I’ve never imagined finding such a gem here. The backcountry safari is an exciting trip as you get to explore wrecks and patch reefs. I feel like an explorer discovering new things.

The 6.5 hours allocated for this tour feels like it’s over too early. Time just flies when you’re having fun. I’d give this a 10-stars if I can.. Yes, it was that good!

I’d recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in having a day full of fun and exploration at Key West. This is probably one of the best packages you can find here. Everything was organizaed so you won’t have any hassles at all. The food was tasty, and drinks were available for the guests.

But what is a “backcountry safari” without some adventure? You’ll get heaps of that on this tour as well. Some activities you should expect include sailing, snorkeling, and kayaking. If you decide to book this tour, take your friends or partner with you – they will have a good time as well.

The kayaking and snorkeling trip was such a beautiful experience. My partner, Scott, and I had such a good time. The mangrove islands were fascinating and the water here at Key West was so blue and clear. Sailing has always been something I wanted to do and this trip gave me a chance to do just that. So I would definitely recommend this package to anyone who want a day full of fun-filled activities. It’s an experience you won’t forget.

You won’t regret going on this trip, it offered excellent value for money! The day starts off with sailing then you get a guided to go kayaking and snorkeling. I really thank the crew for bearing with me, they are very nice and patient.

Then afterwards, you get to explore patches of reefs, wrecks, and other interesting things underwater. There is much to see and explore. The day is capped off with sailing back. You’ll have a power-packed day when you go on this tour.
